Dirk Degenaars is a Managing Director of Transwestern Investment Company, L.L.C. Mr. Degenaars is responsible for the firm's investment activity in the retail property sector throughout the U.S., including acquisitions, joint venture structuring, development and asset management of TIC's retail and mixed-use portfolio.
Prior to joining the firm in 1997, Mr. Degenaars developed his wide range of industry experience with Lend Lease Real Estate Services (formerly The Yarmouth Group) and at Jones Lang LaSalle in the Investment Banking Group. He has been involved in a variety of transactional and asset management roles spanning all product types in numerous markets and has more than 20 years of experience in the real estate industry.
Mr. Degenaars earned an AB from Dartmouth College. He is an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), where he currently serves on a Commercial and Retail Development Council, and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). He also serves on the Village of Kenilworth’s (IL) Plan Commission and is on the board of the Illinois Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
