Stephen R. Quazzo is Co-Founder and CEO of Transwestern Investment Company, L.L.C., a Chicago-based real estate principal investment firm established in 1996. Mr. Quazzo is also a Director of Transwestern Commercial Services, L.L.C. ("TW").
Over the last 11 years, Transwestern Investment Company has acquired interests in over 430 office, retail, industrial and multifamily properties representing a gross investment of more than $9 billion. Currently the firm is seeking U.S. equity investment opportunities for Aslan Realty Partners III, L.L.C., an $800 million fully-discretionary office, retail, and industrial fund; Transwestern Multifamily Partners, L.L.C., a $226 million fully-discretionary apartment fund; and U.S. mezzanine opportunities for Transwestern Mezzanine Realty Partners II, L.L.C., a $300 million fully-discretionary fund. In addition, the firm now manages public real estate securities through its Transwestern Securities Management subsidiary.
Previously Mr. Quazzo served as President of Equity Institutional Investors, a subsidiary of investor Sam Zell’s private holding company, and was a Vice President in the Real Estate Department of Goldman, Sachs & Company. Mr. Quazzo holds undergraduate and MBA degrees from Harvard University. He is a Trustee and Vice Chairman of the Urban Land Institute, a member of the Pension Real Estate Association, and is a licensed real estate broker in Illinois. In addition, Mr. Quazzo serves as a Director of Starwood Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: HOT). Mr. Quazzo also serves as a Trustee of The Latin School of Chicago and is a Chicago Advisory Board member of City Year, a national service organization.
